Edward Everhart Obituary

Edward Dwight Everhart was born August 14, 1950, in Middletown, Ohio to the late Eddie and Lillie Belle Everhart.  He departed this life on March 4, 2026, at home surrounded by family and friends.

Ed attended Tried Stone Baptist Church as a child, and Bethel A.M.E. Church with his wife and children.  He was responsible for changing and updating Bethel’s sign and took this job very seriously – no matter the weather!  He also participated and supported the various ministries and programs at Bethel.

Ed attended Middletown City Schools and graduated in 1969.  He participated on the track team and various intramural sports.

In 1973, Ed married the love of his life, Paula Everhart, and they were happily married for 53 years.  They loved to travel, spend time with the family, enjoyed camping, cruising, traveling and visiting many other states.

He was a member of William B. Pollard Elks Lodge #456 where he served as Esteemed Loyal Knight.

Ed was an avid and loyal Cleveland Browns fan and attended many games, not only in Cleveland, but followed them to other states as well.

He was employed at Crystal Tissue, Middletown, Ohio, for 20years.  He was then employed at Warren Correctional Institution, Lebanon, Ohio, and retired as a Captain after 24 years of service.   .

Ed was a reliable presence of strength, devotion, and love for his family; a quiet larder and loyal friend.  His loss will resonate for years to come in the lives of those who were honored to know him. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him!

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Dorothy Everhart and Glenda Everhart, nephews Darrin Everhart, Curt Stevenson, and Jordy Walker.

Ed leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Paula Everhart; son, Kip Keno Briggs; daughters, Brandi Everhart, Briana (Jimmy II) Little; grandchildren, Heaven Everhart, Queen “Moon” (Antonio) Crowell, Aniah and Olivia Miller, Lillian, Sydney and Jimmy Little III; great-granddaughter, Aurora Wilburn; brother, Michael (CJarrault) Everhart; sisters, Johnnie Thomas, Bernice Bey, Colatta Everhart, Mary Walker, sister-in-law, Regina Brooks; special friend, Jerry Calhoun; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and many, many special friends.
