Edwin “Eddie” Cannon was born on November 4, 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was the only child born of the union between his mother and father, Loretta and Eddie Cannon. Edwin “Eddie” Cannon, departed this earth on January 17, 2021.
Eddie attended and graduated from Aiken High School in 1977, and upon graduating, attended Central State University in Ohio until 1979, where he majored in Engineering Studies and Mechanical Drafting.
Eddie was a quiet, reserved, and well-respected man who loved sports whether he played for an organized team, attended a sporting venue or watched a game via television. A few sports that Eddie was particularly fond of included baseball, football, racquetball, and tennis.
Eddie was also a devoted husband and father. In 1986, Eddie married the love of his life, Vanessa Clark. A loving union that lasted 35 years and until Eddie’s passing. Of that union two children were born - Marcus Edwin Cannon, and Marquitta Curry.
Eddie dedicated his life to his children. Eddie coached his son’s Little League teams, thereby becoming not only a coach, but a father figure to other children; relationships and bonds that carried over into adulthood. Eddie’s dedication was also displayed with his work ethic. He began his 20 year roofing career with Ray St. Clair Roofing, before becoming employed by Dalton Roofing. Eddie was also a member of Local 42 Roofers Union for over 20 years.
Eddie was preceded in death by his mother Loretta Cannon.
Survived by death, Eddie leaves to cherish, his father, Eddie Cannon; his wife, Vanessa Cannon; his children, Marcus Edwin Cannon, Marquitta Curry (Quincy); three grandchildren, Keigan Skye Cannon, Mackenzie Cannon Curry, and Kyrie Curry; and sister, Angela Hampton; and a hosts of relatives and friends.
