In Loving Memory of Eldric “Bubba” Crowder

Eldric “Bubba” Crowder, affectionately known by many as “Uncle Bubba,” departed this life on August 23, 2026, leaving behind a devoted family, a community that knew and loved him, and countless people whose lives were made better simply because he was a part of them.

Eldric was born on September 3, 1945, in Gulfport, Mississippi, to Everett “Snow” Crowder and Pearl (Moore) Crowder. His life became a story of family, service, laughter, strength, hard work, and helping others—often without ever expecting anything in return.

At a young age, Eldric accepted Christ and was baptized at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Mississippi, under the leadership of Reverend Allen. This established an early foundation of faith that remained a meaningful part of his life.

Eldric was educated in the East Tallahatchie School System and graduated from Allan Carver High School in Charleston, Mississippi, in 1964.

In 1966, Eldric proudly enlisted in the United States Army, answering the call to serve his country. His military service was a chapter of his life that his family remembers and honors with great pride. Following his discharge from the Army, Eldric immediately entered the workforce and continued building a life centered around hard work, responsibility, and providing for those he loved.

Eldric was a hardworking and dedicated man who devoted more than 30 years of service to the same company, although the company operated under several names throughout the years. It was most notably recognized as Ball Metal Decorating. His more than three decades of service reflected his strong work ethic, dependability, loyalty, and commitment to providing for his family. Before leaving the workforce, Eldric served as a Warehouse Supervisor, a role well suited for a man who was a natural leader and knew how to get things done.

In 1975, Eldric was united in holy matrimony with Shirley Price. From their union came a beautifully blended family built on love, perseverance, laughter, and devotion.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Shirley (Price) Crowder; his children, Gail (Weston) Shazor of Tillatoba, Mississippi; Pastor Carl Ray (Dorothy) of Tillatoba, Mississippi; Eldric “SugarMan” Crowder Jr. of Amelia, Ohio; Marlynn Crowder (Wesley) of Batavia, Ohio; Eldra “Shawndra” Gennings of Amelia, Ohio; and Derek Crowder (Tenisha) of Cincinnati, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Charles of Yazoo City, Mississippi; his twin brother, Everett (Regina) of Amelia, Ohio; Roger (Earlene) of Louisville, Mississippi; Andrew (Mildred) of Chicago, Illinois; Bertha of Water Valley, Mississippi; and Bernard of Chicago, Illinois.

Eldric was preceded in death by his parents, Everett “Snow” Crowder and Pearl (Moore) Crowder; his brothers, Milton T. Crowder and Sammie L. Crowder; and his daughter, Tralisia Lee.
