Elizabeth “Liver” Leonard-McCord was born on January 11, 1958 in Lincoln Heights, Ohio, to the late Aurelius Sr. and Essie Lee Leonard. She was the fourth eldest daughter of eleven children in which three (AC Leonard, Lois J. Leonard-McPherson and Sharon Willis) preceded her in death.
As a child, Liver was brought to church by her parents and was baptized, becoming a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Alphonso Williams, Sr.
During high school, she was afforded the opportunity to attend the Upward Bound Program at the University of Cincinnati. She graduated from both Princeton High School and Scarlet Oaks Career Campus in 1976. Later in her life, she was blessed with one daughter, Sharonda whom she loved with all her heart.
She was a dedicated employee of Cincinnati Metro, where she retired in January 2025 after 30 years of service. She enjoyed reading and watching movies in her spare time. More than anything, she loved being around her family. She was the life of the party, with her infectious laugh, and always made sure she had “everything” you needed in her purse!
She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Sharonda (Larry); five grandchildren, Ke’Montez, Shaiyarra, Larry III, Jamiaha and Martez; two greatgrandchildren, Jerron and Kenzlie; five sisters, Essie Mae Leonard, Pauline Pritchett, Virginia White (Philip), Michaiah Israel (Dabar) and Rhonda L. Norman (Maurice); and two brothers, Aurelius Leonard, Jr. and Bernard Leonard.
Liver will be missed by her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of other relatives and friend.
