Elzephia Williams Obituary

Elzephia Yvonne (Bonnie) Williams was born July 29, 1934 in Bluefield, West Virginia, to the late French Henry Bannister and Annie (Blair) Bannister. She was the second oldest of 8 children. She departed this life on May 5, 2020.

She was baptized at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bluefield, West Virginia. She attended school in Bluefield, West Virginia. She was valedictorian at Lawson Street School. She attended Jenoris Junior High School and Park Central High School. She also attended Bluefield State College for two years, before moving to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1954.

Elzephia was united in Holy Matrimony to Donald Williams, Sr. To this union was born three sons one daughter: Donald Jr., Gregory Martin, Warren Keith and Falicia Gayle. She was very compassionate about raising her children and taking care of other kids. So compassionate, she started an “in home” babysitting business where she took care of many, many children over a span of many years. She loved cooking, especially big Sunday dinners and holiday meals. All were welcome! She opened her home to many children and others. She adored her grandchildren.

Elzephia is preceded in death by her son, Warren Keith; her siblings, French Henry Jr., Dee Dee, Jimmy, Thomas, Rhodessa Bannister. Elzephia will be deeply missed. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Donald Williams, Sr.; two sons, Donald Williams, Jr. and Gregory (Arnetta) Williams; one daughter, Falicia Gayle Williams; one sister, Theresa Hazeley; one brother, Wayne N. Bannister; five grandchildren, Donald (Tamara) Williams III, Danielle (Antwan) Doyle, Branden (Shiquita) Williams, Anaiah Yvonne Williams, Adriannah Williams; seven great-grand-children, Arian, Amovah, Amani, Ezme, Arys, Londa and Lynden; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
