On September 1, 2026, Estelle Louise Waddell passed away peacefully, leaving her family and loved ones with cherished memories and a deep sense of loss. Estelle was born on December 13, 1958, to Ruby Mae and Robert Waddell in Rome, Georgia.
In 1965, the Waddell family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where Estelle grew up and later graduated from Hughes High School with the Class of 1978.
Estelle’s life was not defined by a traditional career, but by the people she loved, the lives she touched, and the joy she brought to those around her. She was full of life, with a vibrant spirit and a wonderful ability to find happiness in the simple moments.
If you knew Estelle, you knew that music could always bring out her joy. She loved to dance and could turn an ordinary moment into a celebration. Whether surrounded by family and friends or simply enjoying the comfort of home, Estelle’s energy and love of life were contagious. Some of the family’s fondest memories are of the many gatherings, laughter, music, and good times shared together.
Although her journey with COPD was difficult, Estelle faced each day with courage and the same strength of spirit that defined her life. She reminded those who loved her to cherish every breath, find joy whenever possible, and hold our loved ones close.
Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Mae and Robert Waddell; her sisters, Bennie Mae Waddell, Ruby Jean Waddell and Eunice Waddell; and her brothers, Charles, Houston and Robert Waddell.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Donte Turner, Sr.; her daughter-in-law, Brittany Lipscomb; her grandchildren, Aniah Stevens, Jacob Hamblin and Donte Turner, Jr.; and her great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Rosa Spivey (Allen) of Rome, Georgia, Carl Waddell (Josephine), Carolyn Waddell, Denise Waddell and Jermaine Waddell; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
Estelle was a strong fighter, and her journey on this earth has come to an end. She is now sailing toward shores we cannot yet see, free from pain and sorrow. Though she will be deeply missed, her laughter, her dancing, her love, and the joy she shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her
