Eugene Jenkins, Jr. was born to the union of Eugene and Carol Ann Jenkins on May 10, 1959, in Cincinnati, OH. “Baby Gene” as he was affectionately called, accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church by who was the then pastor, his great uncle, Reverend Alphonso Williams, Sr.
Gene grew up playing various sports and was a lover of music and fashion. His taste in music and fashion was fitting to his personality. After graduating from Scarlet Oaks Vocational School in 1977, he enlisted in The United States Army. Although Gene loved to cut hair and would have followed in the footsteps of his late father (Gene Jenkins, Sr.), Gene found his passion in painting. He was the “Master” of the brush and was widely sought after to work on various residential and commercial projects. People will remember Gene for his fun-loving ways and comedic charm, which he continued to display even in the ER Department the eve before his transition. He was loved by nearly everyone who met him, especially the Community of Lincoln Heights.
Gene had one daughter born from a previous relationship whom he cherished, called Chayning. Eventually, he married Carol Anne Brooks on September 26, 2009. This was one of the happiest times in his life. Carol dedicated her love and life to him. She was a caregiver throughout his illness in their home. Mom Jenkins and Terri would faithfully take him to doctor appointments.
Gene transitioned from this life on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, with his loved ones by his side. His father, Eugene Jenkins, Sr. and his maternal and paternal grandparents, pre-ceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Carol Anne Jenkins; daughter, Chayning Andrea Jenkins of Montgomery, AL; beloved mother, Carol Ann Jenkins; sister, Terri Lynn Jenkins, both of Cincinnati, OH; and a host of relatives and friends.
