Forever in our hearts, Eugene Evans Logan, Sr. peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Born on June 4, 1957 in Danville, Kentucky. He was the beloved son of Eliza and Turrell Logan, Sr., who preceded him in eternal rest. Eugene cherished his roots in Danville, but spent most of his life in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He graduated from Danville High School, where he formed lifelong friendships. Soon after, Eugene moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he built a life filled with meaningful work and relationships.
Eugene’s career at Good Samaritan Hospital spanned years of dedicated service, including roles as an employee and supervisor. However, he was most known and proud of his work as an independent contractor, passing on his expertise to his sons, nephews and many others with pride.
From a young age, Eugene’s faith was a guiding light. His commitment to God and his church was unwavering and he found comfort and strength in his spirituality.
He had a special affection for his cherished red-and-white 1962 Chevy Impala convertible. On sunny days, you could find him cruising with the top down, soaking in the rays. Eugene also found joy in dancing, fishing, playing pool and chess. Known for his sharp dress and signature hats, he exuded style and grace.
Eugene’s life was devoted to faith and family. He was passionate about attending Logan Family Reunions, where he served as a prayer warrior, an auctioneer and a proud participant in the Hat Show.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Turrell Johnson Logan Sr.; his mother, Eliza Gladys Logan; and his brother, Turrell Johnson Logan, Jr.
He leaves behind: his loving wife, Laura Logan and their five children – Joy (Joy Bells), Eugene Jr., Faith, Brandon and Joshua. Additionally, he is survived by his children, Kevin and Christina Logan.
Eugene was the youngest of his siblings and is deeply loved and remembered by his sisters, Betty (David) Olinger, Revella (Ellsworth) Love, Dorothy (Orvell) Lewis, Dellena (Frederick) Sloan and Cathy Logan.
Eugene’s legacy lives on through his six grandchildren – Londyn, Landyn, Englyn, Ronald, Donovan and Desmond and his three great-grandchildren – Lemyn, Million and Nakilan. Many family members and friends continue to mourn his loss and cherish his memory.
Over the years, he shared a special relationship with his dear friend, Margo Moore.
He was also very close to his sister, Dellena Sloan as well as nephews, Derrick Logan and Paul Eric (Luke) Abercrumbie.
Deep appreciation is extended to his sister Dellena Joyce Sloan, for her compassionate care during his health struggles.
Until we meet again, rest in paradise, our beloved Eugene Evans Logan, Sr.
