The Life And Legacy
Kimberly Lynn Mobley Marvin was born on September 18, 1963, to the late Eddie Franklin Mobley and Eleanor Arona Morris Mobley. She was the third child born of their union. Kimberly was predeceased in death by her parents; her sister, Barbara Ann Mobley; and her brothers Eddie Franklin Mobley, Jr., Donald L. Jones, Douglas Wayne Mobley and grandson Elijah Larquese Gray.
Kimberly received her early education in the Escambia County Public Schools System in Pensacola, Florida. She continued her studies and graduated from institutions on Morganfield, Kentucky, and Pathway Bible College. At an early age, Kimberly accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was baptized at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. L.S. Powell. Her faith became the foundation of her life and ministry, guiding her walk, service, and love for others.
Kimberly was united in holy matrimony to her lifelong sweetheart, Joaquin “Joey” Marvin, with whom she shared 38 blessed years of marriage. Together they loving raised five children: Jacquelyn Merrill Marvin, Dumarkis Donta Mobley, Kobi Lanee’ Marvin, Tristin Quesi (Myesha) and JudgeAnrol Crevensthai Marvin. She was also a devoted grandmother to eleven cherished grandchildren: Zaharia Lakayla Gray, Aniya Lynn Gray, Cameila Lashawn Merrill, Naima Laveah Gray, Tristin Queshawn Marvin, Jr. (TJ), Jeremiah Terrell Quesi Marvin, KimMora Lynn Wallet, Tre’Ezeriah Marvin, Tamia Lynn Marvin, Brae’Lynn Amirah Marvin and JudgeAnrol Crevensthai Marvin III. Kimberly also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, extended family members, and dear friends.
Kimberly faithfully served as First Lady of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she ministered alongside her husband, Pastor Joaquin C. Marvin. Her service extended far beyond one congregation. She served in numerous capacities at Bethel Metropolitan Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida, Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida; as Headmaster of Bethal Metropolitan Christian Academy; and as secretary at S. L. Jones Christian Academy.
A dedicated servant of God, Kimberly and her husband traveled extensively, sharing the Gospel and encouraging believers across the country. She was a gifted praise and worship leader and served faithfully at Mount Olive Church Ministries in Hartford, Connecticut. She previously attended New Jerusalem Pentecostal Church under the leadership of pastor Ezell and Ethel Shelton before uniting with Mount Olive Church Ministries under Bishop J.L. Fennell (deceased). Pastor Marvin and Evangelist Marvin are presently under the leadership of The First Cathedral church in Bloomfield, Ct. Archbishop Dr. Leroy and Rethie Bailey are their pastor and overseer.
Affectionately known as Evangelist Marvin, Kimberly was a praying woman of God who had a deeply personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Alongside her husband, she became a spiritual mother to many in the Hartford, Connecticut inner city community. Together they operated soul food business known as Rev’s Ribs which became a ministry outreach, touching lives and leading many souls to Christ. Her impact reached beyond the church walls, including a television interview with Gayle King during her time in Hartford.
Known loving as “Grandma” , Kimberly was a nurturing presence_a true “Mother Eagle” _ to her children, grandchildren, and all who encountered her. Her warm smile, compassionate spirit, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on everyone she met. To know Kimberly was to experience the love of God in action.
Kimberly is survived by her loving husband, Pastor Joaquin C. Marvin; her children; her grandchildren; her sisters Jesssica Katherine Robinson, Jayne Robinson Johnson, Karen Michelle Robinson, Kristal Kaye Mobley Williams, Della Sandra Mobley, Lisa Aroni Mobley, and Gwendolyn Mobley; her brothers, Rev. Nathaniel Mobley and Anthony Mobley, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a multitude of relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
May the life of Evangelist Kimberly Lynn Mobley Marvin continue to speak testifying of faith, love, and service long after her work on earth is complete.
