Ezekiel Barnett, Jr was born April 26, 1949 in Middletown, OH to Ezekiel Sr., and Mattie Barnett. He was the 5th child born of 6. Ezekiel attended Middletown Public Schools and graduated from Middletown High School in 1967. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp at the age of 17 where he faithfully dedicated 6 of his years of his life. His time in the military deployed him to fight in the Vietnam War and to the Bahamas and earned him 2 purple hearts. After separating from the military, he continued his studies at Los Angles Technical College majoring in Computer Science in 1976.
Ezekeil was a jack of all trades! He was known around the community as the man that could “fix anything”. All those that knew him knew – that if he couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed!
He was employed at Hamilton Fixture for 15 years and retired from there to be the man that loved his lawn; even from his wheelchair!
Zeke passed away April 28th at the VA hospital days after celebrating his 76th birthday. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Ruth Martin and Alice Barnett. He leaves to carry on his memory, his wife Debbie Barnett, children: Nina McMillan, Jataun Dorsey, James, Victor and Patience Moore and Ezekiel Aaron Barnett (Chanel). His siblings: Albert (Wessie) Barnett, JoAnn Forester and Sherri Robinson, 9 grandchildren including his special grandson Ezekiel Christian Barnett and a host of relatives. Zeke will surely be missed.
