Geneva “Happy” Wilks was born on February 26, 1952 in Lincoln Heights, Ohio to the late Geraldine Wilks. She did not have any siblings, but was surrounded by many family members.
Geneva resided most of her life in Lincoln Heights and was a loved member of the community. She was raised in a time when life was simpler and more easy going; she was a happy child. She carried that spirit of her youth into her adult life, liking to make her family and friends smile and laugh, and assisting them whenever they had a need. She cared about her family and friends and would be sure to check on their welfare even when she was not feeling her best. She raised two sons, Sean and Robert, whom she adored and spoke of fondly.
When she was young, Geneva’s favorite activities were jumping rope and playing jacks. Later, she liked working on word puzzles, watching soap operas, the news and listening to music. She would sing and dance when she heard some of her favorite songs being played. What she enjoyed the most was spending quality time with her family and friends.
On December 31, 2020, the Lord called Geneva home to join her mother, Geraldine Wilks, uncle, Gomelia “Sunny” Wilks, Jr. and the love of her life, Tony Crawford.
Geneva leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life: two loving sons, Sean Wilks and Robert “Rob” Wilks; treasured granddaughter, Tyeaire S. Hunter Wilks; first cousin, Gregory “Greg” Wilks; and a host of family and friends.
