Gloria Jean Harris was born on October 17, 1940 in Minerva, Kentucky, to the late George and Mary (Hawes) Warner. She was the youngest of 13 children (six boys and seven girls); all but one brother, Gordon proceeded her in death.
She graduated from the Aberdeen-Huntington High School in Aberdeen, Ohio in 1957, after which she moved to New York City and worked as a Secretary, until around 1960.
She relocated to the Cincinnati area, where she proudly served as a Civil Secretary and a sibling reintroduced her to a childhood friend, Frederick Harris, whom she married in 1963.
Frederick’s government career afforded Gloria to travel the world, living in Europe (Athens, Greece), Asia (Manila, Philippines) and Africa (Monrovia, Liberia). Their loving union produced two children; Anahi King (formerly Kathi Harris) and Dr. Kimberly H. Lewis; and one granddaughter, Nina Raquel.
Our beloved Gloria, whom her siblings affectionately nicknamed “Glodie”, never met a stranger! She was gracious and kind to all she met and served up the best waffles to family and those she loved.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory: two children, one granddaughter, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, adored cousins and friends.
