Haggai Steven Frierson

Doctor Groove, a.k.a. Haggai Steven Frierson, was born to the late Calvin James and Sarah Lee (Lackey) Frierson who currently resides in Loveland.  Haggai was born in Lincoln Heights Ohio December 3, 1957.  The family moved to Loveland Ohio which afforded ‘Haggs’ the opportunity to grow up in the country—in The Hollow. He attended and graduated from the Milford School system.  Haggai is the 4th of 14 siblings:  Brenda (Harold), Marilyn ( Art), Calvin, Jr. (Ginny), Sarah, Jonathan, Ezra, Parthenia (Marvin), Celestine, Nehemiah, Alpha, the late Elizabeth, Ruth, Janice (Barnabas).  Haggai is Uncle to 34 and GREAT Uncle to 58 nieces/nephews.  Calvin and Sarah’s clan totals 106 (104 living).  His extended Bio and Hollow family members are numerous.

Haggai was a unique, eccentric, sometimes a bit reclusive man.  Dr. Groove was also one of the best guitar players ever to do it.  He composed many number 1 hits.  He was a good cook—the best fried chicken and fish and most tender, flavorful steaks and beef roasts ever.  He always had a dog.  Also he had pet horses, birds, rabbits, cats…

He could outfish anyone; was a hunter; wrote stories; could sing, and was a fixit man.  He had a great sense of humor.  If you were blessed to spend a moment with him (very iffy depending on the day and time) you came away happily smiling or sadly teary eyed—if you know, you know (lol).  He had a most beautiful smile and quiet nature until or unless you riled him—if you know, you know.  

Haggai, aged 68,  transitioned Sunday night, August 16th, at Jewish Hospital.  He leaves with us so many good memories and stories to tell and music to hear—if you know, you know (lol).
