Harry J. Cocrel

Harry Joel Cocrel, better known as “Joel” was born on October 10, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of the late Harry James Cocrel and Vadie May Robinson-Cocrel.

Joel grew up in Cincinnati, and recently resided in Lockland, Ohio. Joel enjoyed working as a stone mason with his cousin, Morris Hodge. His favorite past times was sports of boxing, fishing and football.

Joel was an acquired taste: if you loved him, you adored him, if not, you avoided him. He lived the life he wanted and that was that. He had an infectious smile and had an unconditional affection for family and loved the best he knew how.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Olive Beatrice Cocrel, six aunts and one uncle, Nathaniel Henry.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Janice Lee (Lawrence) Nicholas, Atlanta, GA; Denise Cocrel, (ex-wife of 20 years) Cincinnati, Ohio; two aunts, Beatrice Irene Fincher (Colorado Springs, CO) and Martha Anderson (Yonkers, NY); stepson, Chino Watts; one step-grandson, Chino Watts Jr.; nephews, Kenneth E. Gallaher (Atlanta, GA) and Barry Cocrel; nieces, Julene Goffery and Tiffany (Ivan) Love; 4 great nieces, 11 great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Harry “Joel” will be missed by all those who loved him.
