Hezekiah McNeal, Jr. Obituary

Hezekiah McNeal Jr. was born April 12, 1964, in Covington, Ky. to Emma J. Webb and Hezekiah McNeal Sr.

Hezekiah was a graduate of Aiken High School. There, he loved to play football and sing in all the school choirs.

Although Hezekiah took several employment opportunities, he would always return to his passion for being a mechanic. In the 80’s, Hezekiah was mentored by Liberty Tires as a mechanic. He was certified as a mechanic through Car-X in the 90’s; servicing cars was always one of his biggest passions. He managed several Car-Xs. Hezekiah’s last place of employment was Smith Muffler, where he was known to be one of the best welders & pipe benders within a 200-mile radius.    He continued to service automobiles until he fell ill in 2015.

Hezekiah was a man of deep faith and gave his life to Jesus at a young age under Rev. Southerland of First Baptist Cummingsville. He grew up knowing and loving the Lord. It was at First Baptist Cummingsville that he developed as a leader and a singer.  He shared his God-given gift of music with everyone. His love for music began early in his life. He was heavily inspired by the Motown era and Gospel music. He was often found singing in various groups around the city including the Greater Cincinnati Choral Union under the guidance of Ms. M. Trinity, Peace & Serenity, Mark Jones & Prosperity, Cincinnati Super Choir, P. Ann Everson & the All-Star Band, King Hezekiah and the Crew, Music Therapy, and many events around the city such as The Black Family Reunion, the Flying Pig and Taste of Cincinnati. He even sang twice on a stage in Las Vegas. He was often found leading worship at Impact Worship Center until he fell ill.

The family was very important in his life. Hezekiah met the love of his life Nichole Renee Reed in the spring of 1994 at a Peace & Serenity concert. The two became inseparable and their love blossomed into marriage and a beautiful family. They served in ministry together and were deacons at Impact Worship Center under the leadership of Pastor Rodney H. Posey.

Hezekiah was predeceased by his parents Emma J Webb and Hezekiah McNeal Jr.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of almost 30 years. Nichole; His six children; Amos Goodwin, Micheal McNeal Sr.(Tiffany), Maria Smith, Joshua McNeal, Elijah McNeal, and Hezekiah Reed McNeal.  His two brothers Greg Grant (Karen ) and Raymond Grant(Marie) Grandchildren; Amos Jr., Amonte, Amia, Tamyra, Micheal Jr., Julian, Timothy Jr., Zay, Jaelynn, Kylie, Angelo, Emery, Calliegh, and London. His mother-in-laws Christine Hale and Jackie Reed and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
