Idella Aridge, Sunrise was January 26, 1930 in Stringtown, Mississippi, blessing the lives of everyone that she touched for an amazing 92 years throughout her journey. Sunset was April 2, 2022 in her home of 50 years, surrounded by her loving family.
Idella moved from Mississippi to Chicago, Illinois and from Chicago to Dayton, Ohio before finally settling in Cincinnati, Ohio where she initially joined the First Baptist Church of Evanston under Reverend Bates and then moving on to Corinthian Baptist Church under Pastor Kazava Smith where she served on the Nurses’ Guild for over 40 years.
Always with a heart of love and a smile, Idella was an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. She found joy in the generations of families that rose from her own children.
Idella was the last surviving child of Irene (Ada Bea) Hentz. Proceeding her in passage was: her mother; her siblings, William Buchanan and Frozine White; her grandchildren, James L. Smith, Brennan Ball and her daughters-in-law, Angelia Aridge and Gwen Scott.
Left to celebrate the memories of her life are: her children, Bruce Scott (Jennifer), Brenda Ball, Andre Aridge (Linda), Angela Aridge (Anthony) and Darrell Aridge (Annette); her grandchildren, Byron Scott (Candice), Trina Harris (Markus), Antwane Scott (Betsy), LaDon Aridge (Jane), Bobby Ball, Jr., Natasha Wilson (David), Amber Ray (Michael), Timothy Thompson, Mychael Evans, Richard Hoston (Kat) and Carnisha Aridge; her Birmingham granddaughters, Ann Murphy, Tonja Kennedy (Ronphael) and Equiller Taylor; her daughter-in-law, Joan Cardwell-Aridge; plus many great[1]grandchildren, cousins, great-nieces and nephews.
