Doralea C. Francis (Ieshaie Luqman) affectionately known as Ms. Dee was born April 4, 1974 to Barbara Covington and Lewis Broadnax in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was courageous and caring. She was called back home to our Lord on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the age of 52.
Ms. Dee was a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin all together while filled with ambition. She felt fulfilled with her life after being blessed to watch all of her children graduate. Her heart, her soul was at peace.
She attended Princeton High School and eventually obtained her GED. She was determined and driven. She told her children they could do anything they set their mind to, then demonstrated it to not only them but also everyone that she saw and talked to. She was motivational even the days she wasn’t motivated, creating a safe place for everyone becoming the “Candy Lady” or “Mama Dee” to many.
Ieshaie was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Francis; paternal grandmother, Christina Harrison; Uncle Allen Harrison; and brother Lewis Broadnax II (Ward).
She leaves to cherish in her memory: her children DeAuntay, Keynonis, Keyair, Michael (AJ), DeAirra (Halimah), and others; mother and father Barbara and Raymond; sisters Christina and Rita; brothers Quincy, Michael and Romando; sister-in-law: Raina Ward-Broadnax; eleven grandchildren: Lyric, Kevnir, Kai’lyn, Blessing, Kairi, Kypri, Chase, Samaj, Se’Miah, Keynonis III and Kingston.
