Irvin White Obituary

Irvin White, a resident of Loveland, Ohio, passed on April 7, 2020 at the age of 98.

Born in Social Circle, Georgia, he was the son of Willie and Susie (nee Lowe) White and the youngest of 11 children.

During World War II, Irvin proudly served in the Navy and traveled throughout the world.

Afterwards he attended Tuskegee University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design.

Shortly after returning home he began working at General Electric in Evendale.  During his 30 year career there he advanced from the role of janitor to Manager of Test Cell Drafting.  His team was responsible for verifying the airworthiness of jet engines.

In 1952 he married Florence Johnson, an elementary school teacher with Cincinnati Public Schools.  To this union were born 3 children: James (Mederia) White who died in 2010; Ruth (nee White) Harper and Janice White. After a lengthy illness his wife died in 1978. He later married Ethel Connell of Cincinnati who passed in 1984.

Leaving to cherish his memory are his 2 daughters, a grand daughter and a host of other family members and friends.

Irvin will be greatly missed because to know him was to love him! With great ease and humility, he consistently made a positive and indelible impression on others.  His mantra for living was “patience and kindness towards all!”   He demonstrated that by being quick to lend a listening ear, give of his time and resources to help others in need.

Due to the current corona virus pandemic, the family held a private graveside service at Rest Haven Memorial Park on Friday, April 17.

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at a later date.
