Janet Veal, age 68 of Cincinnati, Ohio was born to the late Fred Murray and Ruby Coleman on January 4, 1958. Janet returned to her Lord, peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Janet was the fifth child of eleven. She grew up with fourbrothers and eight sisters, Linda, Donna, Karen, Eartha, Vanessa, Lorez, Fred, Jr., Lisa, Alex and Shannon. In those years, she wasremembered to be sweet, laid back and was never a stranger. Janet attended Becker Elementary and North College Hill High School. It was in high school where she met her husband, Allen Veal. After completing her education, her journey was one in environmental services, to be able to care for her five children. She was very strong and determined, not succumbing to the pressures of society as a young mother. She loved, raised and guided her children and even children who weren’t hers. She was the “Baby Sitter,” as her siblings put it.
Janet was full of fun. “She’s the life of the party,” according to her granddaughters. She enjoyed going shopping, out to eat and going to parties with family and friends. She loved to travel with her significant other, the late Joseph Smith, as they embarked on adventures all around the world. Janet was also outspoken and would give you a piece of her mind without hesitation. There was always warmth, love and strength behind it.
