Jerry “Baby Gam” Gamble Obituary

The incomparable Jerry Wallace Gamble, 62, Middletown, OH went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 16. He was happy on his last earthly day, traveling home after an exciting trip to Dallas, with his beloved wife Kristen Gamble.

Jerry was born on November 1, 1961, to Moses and Christana Gamble. He was the second oldest of the couple’s five children. He attended Middletown High School were enjoyed playing on the football and basketball teams. After graduating from high school in 1980, he went on to further his studies at the University of Cincinnati where he made several life-long friends. In 1984, he became a proud father to his daughter Allison.

In his early twenties, Jerry landed a job at Armco (AK Steel/Cleveland Cliffs), kicking off a 40 year career in maintenance. He was very proud of the decades of hard work that he put in at the company. He was affectionately called “Baby Gam” by close co-workers, friends, and relatives.

Jerry is preceded in death by Dianne Love, whom he married in 1993. They raised two daughters, Allison and Tina and a son, Skylar.

In 2018, Jerry wed Kristen James. The two enjoyed hosting gatherings at their home, traveling and attending Church together. Jerry formed a close bond with Kristen’s son Kendric and regarded him as a son.

Jerry was devoted in his role as an usher for Mt Zion Baptist Church from 2009 until the time of his passing. He had an unwavering faith in God which he shared unabashedly with others.

Over the years, Jerry spent his time cooking huge feasts for his family, traveling to different cities across the US and abroad and attending countless sporting events and concerts. He was dedicated to visiting friends and extended family and spoiling his five grandchildren as much as possible.

Anyone who knew Jerry knew that he was magnanimous, approachable, helpful, loving, kind and joyful. He had a boisterous, endearing laugh and was always a source of positivity. He had a way of making a person feel deeply valued, like he couldn’t be happier to see you and talk to you. He maintained an unyielding desire to do good for others.

Jerry stands in our hearts as a reminder of strength, nobility, mental and emotional buoyancy, love and benevolence. We weren’t ready to lose him but know he is in a better place. Those who knew Jerry Gamble will miss him more than words can say.
