Joanna Brown

Joanna Brown, born on April 16, 1970, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on December 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, service, and compassion for others.

Joanna was the beloved daughter of Anita and Lansing Holman. She was a devoted sister to Kris Knight, Austin Holman, Tarig Holman, Randi Knight, and Samantha Knight. Above all, Joanna was a loving and proud mother to her children, Jordan, Alexa, and Joseph Holman, who were the center of her world. She was also a cherished grandmother to her grandchildren, Quentin Thomas and Jamie Rae Holman.

Joanna graduated from Randolph High School and completed her vocational education at Morris County Vocational Technical School in 1988. She built a strong work ethic throughout her life and was a licensed cosmetologist. She also worked in food service at Perkins, where she met her life partner, Freddie Johnson, with whom she shared love, companionship, and many meaningful moments.

A woman of deep faith, Joanna was a longtime member of Union Baptist Church in Morristown, New Jersey, and more recently a devoted member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Milford, Ohio. Her faith guided her daily life and was evident in her kindness, generosity, and love for others.

Joanna had a special love for animals, especially dogs. Her beloved pet, Thor, brought her great joy and companionship. She was an avid reader, particularly enjoying the Bible and novels by author James Patterson. Joanna also enjoyed watching football, especially cheering on her brothers. She was known as an excellent cook, famous among family and friends for her collard greens, sweet potatoes, and Thanksgiving dinners that brought everyone together.

Joanna Brown will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering faith, devotion to family, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
