Joseph “Tiki” Lane Miller III Obituary

Joseph Lane Miller III, affectionately known as Tiki, was born on March 26, 1976, to Arletta Merritts and Joseph Lane Miller, Jr. in Cincinnati, Ohio.

His values were shaped in the Greater Bethlehem Temple Church community, which became his lifelong family and support from an early age. Tiki attended Winton Woods High School and Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. He honorably served in the Ohio Army National Guard for six years.

Tiki had a love for electronics and was very skilled. He helped countless friends and family members change light fixtures, audio speakers, and car radios, even over the phone at times. Tiki also had an entrepreneurial spirit. He was a self-employed businessman, owning and operating Miller & Miller International, Freight Brokerage, and Miller International Movers, a Residential and Commercial Moving Company.

Tiki was a proud “Miller Man.” He enjoyed reading, parenting seminars, traveling and watching anything that starred Martin Lawrence; and was very generous with his time and resources.

Most of all, Tiki was a family man! He loved being a father! In his final days, he often expressed his pride and admiration for his children: his 2 daughters, Tierra R. Miller and Kierra B. Miller (Kary Jemison); 2 sons, Joseph L. Miller IV and Joshua L. Miller (Brandi Miller); his bonus son, Lawrence Wright and daughter, Brionna Wright (Latoya Miller).

Although Tiki lived a short while, he did live a full life and he touched the hearts of many while he was with us.

In addition to his children, Joseph L. Miller III leaves to cherish his fond memory: his mother, Arletta (Roosevelt) Merritts; father, Joseph Lane Miller, Jr.; 3 brothers, Derrick Miller, Adrian Miller, Sr. and Roosevelt (Sarah) Merritts, Jr.; sister, Marquitta Hammond; special cousins, Nygel J. Miller, Yolanda Gilliam, Yvette Mahaffey, Yvonne Miller, Gregory Miller, Jr., Jasmine Miller, Brittany Engleman, Alexis Johnson and Roger Miller II; 7 uncles, 14 aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, additional cousins and friends.
