Katherine Marie (Riley) Foster was born on April 17, 1940 to I.C. and Geneva Riley in Cincinnati, Ohio. She departed this life on May 18, 2022, at Ohio Living Center Llanfair Hospice.
Katherine, who was affectionately known as Kat, was blessed with an innate gift to nurture, protect, and love. She embodied a great sense of family loyalty.
Katherine began her education in the Cincinnati Public School System and attended Robert A. Taft. She embarked on a 30 plus year career in the hospital medical field.
Katherine married the love of her life, Harry Foster, Jr. and to this union, three sons, Broderick, Antonio and Cameron were born. God later added a beautiful daughter, Brandi to their union. At the time of Harry’s death on December 14, 2008, they had been married 52 years.
Katherine united with Second Trinity Baptist Church in 1970 under the leadership of Rev. Nathaniel Reed. She was involved in the Senior Usher Ministry, Willing Workers Ministry, Pastor’s Aid Committee, and served on the Family and Friends Day Committee.
Katherine was an avid listener of all genres of music and was known for being a well-dressed woman. Her life had been a devoted effort to succeed and to excel to her highest potential. In doing so, Katherine singlehandedly changed the legacy of her family and future generations of the Foster/Riley Family.
Her life is an example to follow. She has shown us how to truly live life, how to seek and find lifelong treasures that are far more precious than pure gold. Those treasures that cannot be brought or sold, such as honesty, integrity, loyalty, and virtue. Heaven only knows the contributions she made, as mere words alone are not enough to sing her accolades. Her examples have shown us how to sacrifice and to reach lofty goals, we must affix our eyes on Jesus Christ. Additionally, she taught us to keep pressing on and hurdle all obstacles until the race is won.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; sons, Broderick “Rick” and Antonio “Tony”; eight brothers and four sisters.
