LaMorris Q. Nickles

LaMorris Quintin Nickles was born on December 1, 1961, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the proud parents of Bishop Alfred H. Nickles and Bernice Nickles (both preceded him in death). LaMorris has one living sister, Marsha Lynn Nickles-Nowell and had one brother, Alfred Barry Nickles, who preceded him in death; along with two sisters, Pamela Lavora Nickles and Jacqueline Rena Foggie. LaMorris departed this life on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at home with Ann McCall, when God called him home.

He knew and loved the word of God. He was baptized on June 14, 1966. He was saved at an early age at his father’s church, New Jerusalem Apostolic Temple. He followed in his brother’s footsteps by playing the drums.

LaMorris was outgoing, friendly and widely loved. His humor and bright spirit lit up any room and he used comedy to connect with others.

LaMorris loved cooking and barbecuing, completed a Cooks Program, worked at several restaurants, managed a catering service and later co-owned a food truck with Ann. He attended Cincinnati Public Schools, dropped out of high school, but later earned his GED. LaMorris served in the U.S. Army and received an Honorary Discharge.

He devoted time to his children later in his life and grandchildren, all of whom he cherished and gave nick-names to. In 2018, LaMorris survived an aneurysm. Throughout various relationships, Ann was his greatest companion; they supported each other through his health challenges and shared meaningful moments together.

He is survived by: his companion, Ann McCall; daughters, LaToya Greer and Lanisha Greer-Jemison (Antony Jemison); sons, the late Quintin LaMar Wathel, Lucian Lanier, Lenard Lanier and Shaun Nickles; sister, Marsha Lynn Nickles-Nowell; and 17 grandchildren.

Children from the relationship are Donnessa McCall, Ebony McCall, Rico McCall, Chaz McCall and many others; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
