Lawrence Oglesby Moon, age 80 of Hamilton Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026. He was born in Lynchburg, VA on February 20, 1945 to Harry and Eva (Turner) Moon.
Lawrence embraced the responsibilities of a husband and father at a young age. A man of tremendous work ethic, he once held three jobs to provide for his growing family. He went on to earn his CDL’s, which opened the door to a long and dedicated career with the City of Hamilton as a professional driver, from which he eventually retired.
His generosity and guidance extended far beyond his household, as he served as a father figure to many of the young men in his neighborhood, earning the love and respect of an entire community. He enjoyed cookouts with his family, fishing or watching a good football game. Above all, he cherished his time with his beloved wife of over 50 years, with whom he shared a love of listening to music.
He is survived by his children, Oglesby Louis (April) Moon, Margaret Louise Moon, Riccardo Lewis Moon, Yolanda Michele (Todd) Clemons, Darrick Damone Moon, and Romell Artegis Moon; 18 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 2- siblings; (Margaret Doolittle and Evelyn Pogue) and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Moon Sr. & Eva Moon; one brother, Harry Moon Jr.; one-son, Sean Patrick Moon and his wife of over 50 years, Mary Louise (Flowers) Moon
