Lola Kathyrn Covington was born October 17, 1938, to the late Robert William Covington, Sr. and Jacqueline Gentry Covington in Richmond, Kentucky.
At an early age Lola accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized, uniting with The First Baptist Church in Richmond, Kentucky. Upon moving to Cincinnati, she united with the Corinthian Baptist Church and was very active and then joined the usher board.
Young in life, Lola married Richard B. Showes and to this union three children were born; Keith, Roger and Ronald Stowes (who preceded her in death). In years to come, Lola was introduced to her husband and life companion. She married the love of her life, Leroy Anthony Burrell. These two would travel and always look forward to going to Florida on vacation.
Lola then joined the Good News Baptist Church and remained faithful. She faithfully sang in the choir and attended Sunday School. Lola loved to ride her bike and do the different bike trails in Cincinnati. But most of all, she loved to dance, especially…Line Dance!
Lola was the Front Desk Receptionist at WKRC of Cincinnati for over 20 years. She went on to be the Front Desk Receptionist for the Cincinnati Board of Realtors for 20 years and then retired to start her next chapter of life.
