Lola Pearl Thomas Obituary

Evangelist Lola Pearl Thomas was a woman of unwavering faith and extraordinary dedication to her family, community and God. Born to the late Jessie and Theodore Coleman, she was the eldest of six siblings. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, she received her high school education through the Cincinnati Public School system.

Evangelist Lola was blessed with three cherished children: Loretta Marie Branch-Carroll, Pastor Loraine Sandra Branch-Lopes and Minister Doctor Larry William Branch. Her first marriage was with Willie William Branch (deceased) and later married in 1974 to Rayfield Thomas (deceased), a union that brought her joy and companionship.

In June 1980, God placed a calling on Evangelist Lola’s life, and she answered it with steadfast dedication. She received her first Evangelist License in 1984 from the Church of God in Christ. Her devotion to ministry led her to travel to South Korea in October 1987 to attend an interdenominational clergy conference under the teachings of Reverend Moon. In June 1989, she was honored with a Scholastic Achievement Award from Temple Bible College. Further extending her ministry to serve those in need, she earned a certificate of training from the Cincinnati Police Academy as a Jail Police Clergy.

Her career reflected her commitment to care, beginning at Good Samaritan Hospital and ending in her retirement after 30 years of service at Christ Hospital.

Evangelist Thomas’ legacy is one of service, faith and love. She is survived by: her beloved son, Minister Doctor Larry William Branch and daughter-in-law, Law Kim; her surviving siblings, Julia Mae Steward and Jerry Coleman; and her grand-children, Terry Branch, Tony Branch, Charmaine Hills, James Lopes IV, Lora Neadham, Larry Neadham, Kellie Branch and Keisha Branch. She also leaves behind 33 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Preceding her in death: daughters, Loretta Marie Branch-Carroll and Pastor Lorraine Branch-Lopes; and siblings, Rosa Lee Harriston, Ted Coleman and Jean Marie Lee.

Evangelist Lola Pearl Thomas was a servant of God, and her relentless passion for serving others will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her.
