Louise B. Kelly

Louise was born to Mexie Henderson and Dave Brutley of Eufaula, AL.

She gave her life to Christ at the age of 9 and joined St. John A.M.E. Church of Eufaula, AL, where she sang in the Junior Choir.

Louise was a graduate of VanBuren High School in Eufaula, AL. She also attended Daniel Payne College in Birmingham, AL.

Louise moved to Hartford, CT and was employed by the State of Connecticut for over 25 years. In Hartford, Louise met and married the late Robert Kelly.

Louise joined Bethel A.M.E. Church in Hart-ford. She served as Secretary, Vice-President and President of the Pastor’s Aid and Secretary of Flower Club #2. She also was elected to the office of Class Leader.

She completed the first year of study for the A.M.E. Church Continuing Education Program, under the New England Conference Board of Christian Education and the Board of Examiners of the A.M.E. Church

Louise moved to Cincinnati in later years, due to her health. Louise departed this life March 10, 2023 at 12:45 a.m., at Wellspring Health Center under the care of Queen City Hospice Health Team.

Louise was preceded in death by her three brothers, Halton Brutley of Cincinnati, OH, Dave Brutley III and Walter Brutley of Eufaula, AL.

She leaves to cherish her memory: nephews, Walter Brutley, Jr. of Eufaula, AL, Harold and Stephen Brutley of Columbus, OH and Isiah Stomer; nieces, Mozella (Carlos) Holmes of Cin-cinnati, OH, Audry Darby of Montgomery, AL and Gail McGuire of Tampa, FL; great niece, Deria Browning of Chicago, IL; cousins, Robert and Emi Peterson of Hartford, CT and Mary Peterson of Cincinnati, OH; and a host of other relatives and friends.
