Louise Michell Dillard-Bell, age 94 years young, last living child of Daisy Hargove and Thomas Mitchell, Sr. of Georgia. The last of 13 children. She passed peacefully at home just two days before her 95th birthday, under the care of Grace Hospice and Council on Aging Nurse Aides, Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
She always held special energy with a love of motorcycles and cars. She also had a special joy for all children, no matter their race or color.
For over 35 years, she worked for Jewish families between Milwaukee, NYC and Cincinnati. She held a special fondness for the O’Brien children. After leaving the housekeeping and childcare years of her employment, she worked for Hamilton County’s Allen House. She was a born nurturer and caregiver. She was an avid thrift store shopper! One thing for certain, she was the bargain QUEEN! A skill and a trait that she passed down to many! She loved her gossip magazines, tennis, baseball, playing cards, telling entertaining stories, cooking, great food taster (family joke) and all of her family! She also had a special love for Mahdi (thank you for everything)! In her past time and spiritual times, she worked as an admin/ announcement secretary for 2nd Corinthian Baptist Church under Sr. Pastor Rev. Hardy, from the early 1960’s until the mid 1980’s.
She leaves a legacy of 16 to cherish her memory: her only child, whom she loved very much, Patricia Thrasher Powell; five grandchildren, Angela Hollingsworth, Robert Hollingsworth (Denise), Cassandra Lenzley, Tapiwa Girton and Darrell Powell; eight great-grandchildren, Brittany Hicks, Mashya White, Ayinde White, Sabrina Mack, Serenity Lenzley, Donovan Lenzley, Princeton Hollingsworth and Alyssa Hollingsworth; two great-great-grandchildren, Justin and Quraven; and a host of nieces and nephews and extended families too.
