Lucille was born December 1, 1935 in Wilcox County, Alabama to Robert and Mazie Thomas. She was one of 10 children and a twin to Lincinda Reid.
Lucille relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio after graduating from Camden Academy in 1954.
After leaving Camden, Lucille aided with helping her family with the children while they worked as well as taking care of her mother until her passing, all while maintaining a variety of healthcare positions.
She then preceded to seek better employment, working for Keebler Baker where she worked for over 30 years, until retirement.
Early in life, Lucille confessed her life to Christ. She attended Seventh Day Adventist Church for many years. She then joined Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she was a devoted member for over 30 years.
Lucille was always an inquisitive person. She always wanted to know all about you and your family and would remember everything the next time she saw you. She had a great mind like that.
Lucille had a very infectious smile on her. You could talk about anything. She always had a love for people, especially the little ones.
Lucille always had a love for cooking — great at everything, including her famous sweet potato pies and her seven-up cakes. Her hobbies were sewing and a love for her Book of Dreams. She also attended Withrow High School to studying Auto Mechanics; always willing to learn.
Lucille was blessed with six children: Donnie E. Johnson (son), Karen E. Bell-King (daughter), Jeffery B. Johnson (son), Gerald J. Israel (son), Randall S. Johnson (son) and Chandreitta Johnson (daughter).
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mazie Fuller; her husband, William C. Berry; son, Randall S. Johnson and daughter, Chandreitta Johnson (Chanda); eight sisters, Francis Fuller, Juanita Jordan, Rosa Lee Yarbrough, Easter Rene Frederick, Jessie Nell Cherry, Mathee Whittle (Dollbaby), Willa Mae Fuller and Lucinda Reid (her twin).
Lucille leaves to cherish her loving memory: two sisters, Azilee Mathis (Sista) and Lutica Wilks (Shug); 19 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Lucille left…surrounded by her loving family. We witnessed her exchange an earthly life for eternal life in Heaven at 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash.
