Lynard Mitchell, Sr. Obituary

Lynard Mitchell Sr. was born on April 7, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Magnolia Mitchell and Walter Davis. Affectionately known as “Nobby” by some loved ones, Lynard was a man whose presence could never be forgotten.

Lynard graduated from Hughes High School and went on to work at Frisch’s Commissary and UPS. Through these experiences, his love for trucks and eagerness to drive grew deeply, inspiring him to obtain his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). He went on to become a well-respected truck driver, known for his dedication, determination, and genuine love for the open road.

Lynard lived a life full of love, laughter, and jokes like no other. He had a personality that could fill a room, and he never hesitated to share his thoughts, opinions, and “facts.” Through social media, especially Facebook, he entertained countless friends and family members with his humor, stories, and unapologetic way of speaking his mind. Whether you agreed with him or not, you could always count on Lynard to tell you exactly what he thought.

Our father had many passions and interests that made him uniquely himself. He loved playing the saxophone, baseball, and football. He enjoyed traveling from city to city, taking in beautiful sights, especially the mountains and the beautiful blue waters of Florida; though he’d be the first to tell you he had absolutely no intention of getting in the water. He was an adamant dog lover and took pride in smelling good while wearing his favorite colognes, dressing nicely, and, of course, his beloved cowboy boots.

But beyond the things he loved, Lynard will be remembered most for the love and memories he created with the people around him. He was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose life touched many.

Lynard was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Magnolia Mitchell, his father, Walter Davi, brother Sean Kirkland and sister, Alisa Williams

He leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy, his three children: Lynard Mitchell Jr. (children, January and Skylar), Jovana Mitchell (children, Jomariah, Esa, and Hadi), and Danica Mitchell; His Fiance, Laurie Sims; his brothers, Michael Mitchell (Angela), Andre Kirkland, Herbert Preston; his sisters, Carolyn Mitchell, Alonda Powell (George), and Valerie Upshaw; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Though his journey on this earth has come to an end, the laughter he created, the stories he told, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave will continue to live on through those who knew and loved him.
