Mamie Lue Gibson

Mamie Lue Gibson was born on August 31, 1934 to Annie Kate and Frank West from Washington, Georgia. She moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1956 with her former spouse, Willie Claude Gibson.

She began her long life of taking care of others at our first church Saint Henry which was located in the West End area. She was what is known today as a domestic worker which she started at the Clergy’s Home of Saint Henry. This is where her love for Bingo (social time) began! She was a member of St. Pius Church where she attended faithfully. She volunteered for and participated in many various activities at St. Pius Church. She moved her membership to Consolation Baptist Church and in her senior years, she joined Chase Avenue Church of the Nazarene. She is an honorary member of Tyrus Christian Fellowship Church.

Mamie is preceded in death by her parents, Annie Kate and Frank West; sister, Mattie Mae Ivory; grandchildren, Kimberly Gibson and DeAngelo Waller; and great-granddaughters, Danielle Lang and Deidra Waller.

Mamie leaves to cherish her memory: her four children: Diane Gibson, Garland Gibson (Theresa), Anita Gibson Hisle and Cathy Gibson Waller (Greg); grandchildren, Kenyatta Gibson, Kirk Gibson, Kelly Gibson, Kerrie Chaney, Daniel Lang, Dorian Waller, Garland Gibson, Jr., Danielle Waller, Aleesha Hisle, Ashley Hisle, Dominque Gibson, Julius Gibson; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and a host of friends and associates.
