Maralyn Kay Walton was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 13 ,1940 to Corene Thompson.
Maralyn, better known as Kay, later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she gave birth to her eight children: Phillip, Kathleen, Lorene, Harlan, Harry and Emanuel (twins), Timothy and Debbie. Kay also had five stepchildren, Lisa, Ricky, Diane, Carol and Valerie. Maralyn (Kay) was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.
Kay enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, taking trips to the casino, partying and cooking, especially during the holidays when she would prepare her famous buttermilk pies.
During her early years, Kay worked as a bus driver and a contractor. She also owned her own dry cleaners. For the past 30 years, she made a career caring for individuals with special needs, as well as caring for her great-grandson, Damokeem Seldon whom she loved dearly.
Maralyn was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her children, Phillip, Debbie and Emanuel. She leaves to cherish in her memories; special friend, Leonard Black; daughters, Lorene Watson and Kathleen (Mini) Harris; sons, Harlan, Harry (Kim), Timothy (Wayne); sister, Shelia Barrett; brother, Robert Thompson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
