Marian Piercine Miller (95) passed away peace-fully on December 6, 2024. Marion was born on October 10, 1929 and was the second child born to the union of James Orr (deceased) and Mary (nee Fleming) Orr (deceased), in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Marian was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her.
Those who knew Marian will remember her for her infectious smile and overwhelming laughter, her deep-rooted faith in Jesus, and her unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered. She had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
Family Acknowledgements
Marion was preceded in death by her only child, Rev. James Edward Crawford. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Jymii R. Crawford, Eric Beard, Afia Majid and Warith Majid; great-grandchildren, David Jason Crawford, A’meerah Crawford and Rahsaan Crawford; and great-great-grandchild-ren, Ra’Meer, Nasir and Samir.
She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Memorable Moments and Accomplishments
Marian was born into a large proud family of a fervent group of religious leaders in the West End community: (3) Pastors (Grandfather, Uncle and Son — all deceased) as well as Educators, Tailors and Professional Chefs.
Marian Miller attended Cincinnati Public Schools and worked in the nursing field and restaurant industry.
As a youth Marian was baptized and joined Metropolitan Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. J. Franklin Walker (deceased). She has always been very active in her service to the Church, beginning as a young girl, and has held numerable positions. At the time of her passing, she was an active member of Greater Fellowship Baptist Church.
