Marilyn Rae Rogers (McLaughlin) was born to Tommie Slaughter (Rogers/Osborn) and the late Kenneth Ray Rogers on March 19, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Marilyn Rogers departed this Earth on January 13, 2021.
Marilyn was the first born of Tommie and Kenneth’s four children. Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory: Aaron (Brother), Darlene (Sister), Yolawnda (Sister), Willie and Clifford (Step-Brothers). Marilyn was preceded in her passing by her Husband David McLaughlin, Father Kenneth Ray Step-Father Clifford Slaughter, Jr. and Step-Sister Barbara Jean Slaughter.
Marilyn attended several Cincinnati Public Schools, namely Millvale Elementary and Withrow High School (graduated 1972). Thereafter, she attended Quarter Tech/Cincinnati Technical College (Cincinnati State) in 1975 for an Associate of Applied Science as a Medical Records Technician, after which she worked and retired from Jewish Hospital as a Unit Clerk after many years of faithful service. She also attended Life Christian University, graduating in June of 1998 with a degree in Christian Theology, also obtaining a subsequent degree of Bachelor of Arts in June 1999.
Marilyn devoted many years to Her personal mission in ministering to women and girls in Truth Ministries. It was designed to provide ministry counseling during post-abortion needs.
Marilyn met the Love of Her Life, David McLaughlin, and they married on May 2, 1998. He was a Sergeant 1st Class in the Army and had been stationed in Korea during the 50’s and 60’s. David had a son (Justyn) from a previous marriage and has two grandchildren, Lacy and Lex.
Marilyn gave her Life to the Lord at an early age and always strived to be a good Christian. She’d literally give you the shirt off of her back or see what she could do to help you in any way she could. She and David loved reading their Bibles together and visiting various local churches. They both believed in giving to help their family, friends and various charities, churches and organizations.
Marilyn leaves a host ofloving Family, Friends, Nieces, Nephews, In-Laws, Cousins and Aunts.
