Marinina Henderson Jordan was born on October 18,1951, in Middletown, Ohio to Sanford E Henderson Jr. and Eleanor (nee Commodore) Henderson. From childhood, she was known for her silky voice, radiant smile and sparkling personality.
She attended Middletown City Schools, graduating from MHS in the Class of 1970.
Shortly after graduation, she started her career with the Middletown Public Library until she made the decision to serve the community as Manager of the Fairfield Center, rendering memory and assisted living services to adult residents with diverse care requirements.
She continued her compassionate service with Lutheran Social Services until she was no longer physically able.
Whether listening to music, reading a book, doing arts and crafts, word search puzzles, shopping or enjoying a friendly---or not so friendly game of cards, she was indeed the life of the party.
A lifetime member of Bethel A.M.E, Marinina accepted Christ at a very early age and carried her Faith proudly throughout her life. She was a beloved mother, Grandmother and Friend to many and was affectionately known as “Mommy”, “Nana”, “G’Na” or “NanaNina”.
By whatever name, she fully dedicated her life to her family and community, offering a helping hand and loving smile whenever she was able. Her Faith guided her through life’s joys and challenges as she effortlessly inspired those around her with kindness and unwavering spirit.
On October 7, 2025, the Precious Soul passed away peacefully to her Heavenly reward.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Heather Kimbrough (Jerome), grandchildren, Ayesha Winfrey (Cameron), Aaron Kimbrough (Emma Simpson) and Aliyah Kimbrough; seven cherished great grandchildren, John, Kendall, Leilani, Noah, Onyx, Mina and Legend; a beloved “Sister-in-Love”, Cathy Johnson and special niece, Natalee L. Henderson; Goddaughters Kelly Johnson of Cincinnati and Shanee Davis of Indianapolis, IN;
Also left to mourn her passing are her dearest friends, Cynthia Morrison, Jacqueline Fuller and a host of cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Sanford E. “Sandy” Henderson, III and Priscilla Lee Henderson.
Marinina’s Legacy is marked by her strong faith, deep compassion, lively humor and steadfast devotion to all who loved her and were in any way touched by this remarkable woman.
