Marlene Rodgers Oglesby was born November 24, 1958 at General Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio to Hillard Rodgers and Lela Bell Rodgers, the youngest of seven.
Marlene attended Lincoln Heights Elementary before the family relocated to Wyoming. She graduated from Wyoming High School and furthered her education at Larry Moore Cosmetology School. Marlene was queen of the Jerry Curl.
Marlene attended Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church and sang in the youth choir. She enjoyed going to church, until her health failed.
Marlene loved music and was the life of every party. She had a laugh you couldn’t forget. He favorite color was red and loved her hair and nail polish gold. Marlene’s smile would light up a room.
Marlene was preceded in death by: parents, Hillard Rodgers and Lela Rodgers; brother, George Rodgers; and sisters, Elizabeth Perry and Dr. Dorothy Orr.
Marlene was married for 21 years and is survived by: husband, Ronald Oglesby; daughter, Ockian C. Price; grandkids, Tierra C. White, Freddie Price III and Milan Price; great-grandkids, Ra’moni C. Hall and Rion C. Hall; sisters, Mary Chenault, Amelia Smith and Lula B. Bridgeman (Randall); two best friends, Judith Braswell and Patricia Logan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
