Marvin “BigMaav” Poole passed away unexpectedly on May 3, 2026, following a tragic semi-truck accident.
Marvin was born on July 19, 1986, in New Haven, Connecticut, to the late Deacon Patrick Henry Poole Sr. and Yvonne Michelle Keen-Poole. He was a devoted father, son, partner, and friend whose vibrant spirit, infectious laugh, soulful singing, and unwavering ambition touched all who knew him.
He attended the New Haven Public School System, where he developed his love for both sports and music. As a youth, he participated in golf through the Tiger Woods Foundation under the direction of Cheryl Merritt and played on a legendary Pop Warner football team. In high school, Marvin found his passion in music as a drummer in the band—something he cherished for many years. Marvin was baptized at an early age under the pastor leadership Apostle Hugh Carmichael at Faith Tabernacle in New Haven, CT.
Later in life, Marvin relocated to Bangor, Maine, where he pursued a career in welding. One of his proudest accomplishments, alongside raising his children, he completed his CDL certification through WEL Company in 2021, which allowed him to pursue his lifelong dream and launch his career in the trucking industry.
Marvin had a deep love for life and found joy in his faith in God, his music, cooking, sweets, fishing, and playing his PlayStation 5. His presence was uplifting, and his personality left an unforgettable mark on all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Henry Poole Sr., and his grandparents: Bernadette Simon-Keen, John Daughtry, Augustus Poole Sr., and Lucille Blanchard Poole-Washington.
Marvin leaves to cherish his memory his five beloved children: Serenity Poole, Sincere Poole, Elijah Parizo, Camille Poole, and Malayah Poole, all of Waterbury, Connecticut. He is also survived by his loving mother, Yvonne Keen-Poole; his 4 brothers, Gahiji Keen, Patrick (Holly), Lloyd, and William Poole; and his devoted partner of eleven years, Chanyae’ Flowers. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Marvin will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his love, laughter, and the light he brought into the lives of others.
