Mary L. Dangerfield was born on May 26, 1938 in Montgomery, Alabama to Carrie (nee Tate) Sanders and Major Sanders.
Mary passed away peacefully at home. She was pre-ceded in death by her husband, James Dangerfield, Sr.
She leaves to cherish and rejoice: her children, Anthony (Deborah), James Jr., David and Tonya; her brother, Arthur Watkins, Jr.; her only grandchild, Krishonda I. Dangerfield; great-grandchildren, Krishaun and Kaydence; and a host of nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws, numerous friends way too many to mention, but definitely acknowledged. Mom never met a stranger.
Mary L. Dangerfield was definitely a believer in God. She had an open heart and mind, and open door to everyone who needed her input in any capacity.
Mary’s love was world wide.
Mary was President of the Usher Board at Christ Emmanuel Baptist Church. She worked at Shriner’s Burns Hospital, Kenwood Terrace Nursing Home, Scarlett Oaks Detoxification Center, and School Teacher at St. Joseph Catholic in the West End. She taught typing and short-hand. She also had 30 plus years of in-home daycare. Every-body can’t cook, but Mary Dangerfield cooked with a lot of love, straight from the heart and was a caregiver to many.
But of all the hats she wore, being a wife and mother, she never fell short or disappointed.
