Mary Elizabeth Lumpkin the daughter of Frank and Eva Phiffer-Redd was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. The family later moved to Lincoln Heights, OH in 1928. She had two brothers, Harvey Redd and Albert Redd, one daughter, Wanda Walker. Both parents, brothers and daughter preceded her in death.
Mary attended South Woodlawn Elementary School and Lockland Wayne High School. After graduating from High School, she attended Nursing School. After finishing Nursing School she was employed by the City of Cincinnati and worked at General Hospital for 35 years.
Mary was an active member of St. Simon of Cyrene Episcopal Church Woman Organization. She co-chaired many Fashion Shows held at St. Simon. She served on the committee to raise money to replace the windows and to install central air condition in the sanctuary. She also was a member of the Altar Guild.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son-in-law, John Walker, Sr. two grandsons, John Walker, Jr., and Anthony Walker, fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, nephew, Robert (Carol) Redd of California and a host of cousins and friends.
