Mary Ellen Brockman -Taylor was born October 5, 1943 the first born to the union of John and Ida (Griffin) Brockman of Cincinnati, Ohio. Mary was married to (Purcell Taylor) Now divorced.
Mary graduated from the University of Cincinnati, College of Arts & Sciences with a Bachelors Degree in English. She retired from the banking industry after more than 50 years of service, the last 30 years being at PNC Bank. She was a peaceful soul with a very kind heart. She was a giver and she was always willing to help someone else. She was a studious spirit with a love of the English language making her quick to correct inaccurate communications.
She had a love for life and she enjoyed laughing, having fun, good conversations but most of all eating. Mary enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and she was a very competitive game player. She enjoyed all kinds of music from R & B, country, folk and gospel music. She was an avid reader and sports fan while living in Cincinnati she cheered for the Bengals and while living in Pittsburg cheered for the Steelers. Strong willed and very independent, she never asked anyone for anything. Facing life and all its happiness and hardships, with confidence and modesty on her terms. She was a survivor with lots of intestinal fortitude and nothing would stop her until our heavenly father called her home. She loved the Lord and she had her own personal and intimate relationship with Christ.
She is survived by several siblings; Donna Maria Watkins, Cheryl A. Brockman, Kathy Brockman-Walker (Eddie), Vicki Brockman-Kidd and John Brockman Jr. Niece, Terrie Yvette, (Ted) Stice of Columbus, Ohio. Nephews Isaac Thompson, Joshua C. Brockman of Irvine, California and Paul T. Watkins who preceded her in death. She leaves a great niece Kaylee Sophia Brockman and a great nephew Josiah Brockman of San Antonio, Texas and a host of relatives and friends.
