Melinda Shavon Lloyd Goodwin affectionately known as "Shavon" entered eternal rest on April 26,2026 at the age of 47 in Cincinnati, Ohio surrounded by LOVE. Melinda Shavon was born on March 9,1979 the beloved daughter of Gina Walton and Bobby Lloyd. Shavon accepted Christ at an early age under the pastorage of Rev. Dr. Cecil Ferrell. Her faith remained her anchor, her strength and source of peace.
Shavon proudly graduated from Withrow High School in 1997. She later pursued her passion of caring for others by attending the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing, graduating in 2013 as a Registered Nurse. For over 12 years Shavon served as a dedicated nurse, caring for others with compassion, grace and excellence. Shavon relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where she continued her calling in healthcare. She worked at Shepard Center providing compassionate care before discovering her true passion as a PACU nurse at Wellstar. She thrived and made a lasting impact on both patients and colleagues.
Shavon courageously battled metastatic breast cancer for over 20 years, turning her pain into purpose and her testimony that inspired countless others. She shared her journey on TikTok under the handle "Shavon the Blonde". In a powerful rededication of her faith, she was baptized again on September 21, 2022 at Pastor John Gray’s Relentless Church. Reaffirming her walk with Christ. Shavon was a true go-getter with an undeniable entrepreneurial in everything from aesthetics and beauty to life insurance and beyond.
Shavon was known for her diva spirit, impeccable style and radiant presence. She carried herself with confidence, beauty and grace, leaving a lasting impression everywhere she went.
Shavon was a devoted mother to Firstborn and Babyboy as she affectionately called them. She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving parents, Gina (Kurtz ) Walton and Bobby (Linda) Lloyd; her sons, DeShaun (Kera) Copeland and Dominik Copeland; her beloved grand Diva, Ka'loni Copeland of Georgia; her brothers, David Childress, Morgan Walton and Darrell Walton; her nephew, David "DJ’ Childress Jr.; her aunts and uncles, Terri (Jerome) Walker, John (Kim )Childress, Todd Childress and Keith Lloyd; her devoted Besties, Brenda Mosely, Charmelle (TJ) Walker, Belinda (Howard) Grant, Shannon (Jeff ) Pryor, Dianna (LaRue) Harrington, Jazz (Jay) Johnson and special cousins, Tomika Pitts, Tasha McMillan, Maia (Ritchie) Stroud and a host of family and friends.
She was previously married to Sean Goodwin, who remains a part of her life’s story and legacy.
