Melvin Martin was born May 19, 1943. He departed this life on November 21, 2021.
He attended Sands Elementary School and Porter Junior High. He worked at the Red Horse Bar at night in his younger years. He loved watching soap operas, WWE, western movies and listening to music. His favorite songs were “Diamond in Back” and “Cowboys & Girls”.
He was an awesome uncle and he loved watching his nieces and nephews. They were the light of his life. His nickname was “Cool Boo” because he was charming to everyone.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Alice and Bert Martin; his wife, Dorothy Martin; brothers, Alfred Martin, James Martin and Dooney Martin; sisters, Eddy Logan, Effie Brown and Delores Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Nicole Joyner; son-in-law, James Joyner; grandson, Teran Williams; sisters, Betty Rush, Francine Bosley, Pastor Myrtle Williamson and Beverly Reeves; brother-in-law, Derek Reeves; 28 nieces and nephews; 54 great-nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
