Beloved Michael W. Starkey, Sr. was born to Dorris and James Starkey in Louisville, Kentucky on April, 25 1959. He was the oldest of four children.
He was baptized at the age of nine years old at The Magazine Street S.D.A. Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He also sang in the children’s choir and was in the Pathfinders Club.
Michael was quiet and shy, but always enjoyed being around his family. The family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1975. Michael graduated from Forest Park High School in 1977.
He then married Lorraine Bell Starkey and they raised two children together. He transferred his church membership to Emmanuel S.D.A. Church, where he actively played on the church basketball team. Michael loved the Lord and read his Bible daily.
Michael was a fun, supportive and loving family man. His hobby was collecting model cars. He also enjoyed attending yearly car shows with a particular interest in exotic cars.
For the last 33 years of his life, he was employed by Chemicals, Inc./Chemgroup and for them drove a tanker truck. He was looking forward to retiring in the next four years.
He leaves to cherish his memories: The late James Starkey (preceded in death); mother, Dorris Starkey; daughter, Malaika Wills; son, Michael Starkey, Jr.; sister, Lisa Wells; brothers, James Starkey and Glenn Starkey; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two aunts, Jo’Ann May and Mary Rowan; and a host of nieces and great-nieces, nephews and great[1]nephews and cousins
