Michael A. Maertz, Jr.

Michael Allen Maertz, Jr., of Reading, OH. fought an unrelenting 15-year battle with congestive heart failure. He got to ring in the 2025 New Year, but shortly after, he finally succumbed to his disease at the Hospice Center in Blue Ash on January 1st, 2025 with his Mom and Brother Bryan by his side. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael A. Maertz, Sr. And step father David Grau. 

Michael is survived by his 3 children Lorin Maertz(Ryan Mills), Michael "Eddie" Maertz and Elaine "Ellie" Maertz; Mother - Debra Grau; Brothers - Bryan Maertz(Chelsie Boland), and Brandon Maertz; Niece and Nephew - Arionna Maertz and Brooks Maertz; Step Sister - Kristen Caudill(Scott Caudill); Best Friend - Sachi Human. 

Michael(Mike/Mikey) was a 93’ graduate of Reading High school. He enjoyed spending time with his children, researching just about any and everything, collecting beanie hats, and finding new ways to give his mother grey hairs! He was the life of the party due to his effortless way to make anyone laugh. He had a way of making light of a bad situation especially during the last month of his life. Mike was the best daddy to his children and the fun uncle to his niece and nephew! Even though he didn’t get to live a long life, he lived a fulfilled one. His 3 children will now carry on his last name and continue to make him the proud father he’s always been! He will be so greatly missed by all!

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Michael and/or Elaine's savings accounts at any Valley Central bank.
