Minnie Lee (Penny) Larkin was born on October 4, 1938, in Cuba, AL, to Tom and Anna Larkin. After graduating from Kinterbish High School in 1956, she moved to Cincinnati, where she met and married Charlie Brown. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Kyetta. Penny dedicated years of her life to working at Jim Beam Brands Co., where she made lasting connections.
Penny found Christ at an early age and was baptized at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cuba, AL. When she moved to Cincin-nati, she united with Greater New Light Baptist Church. Later she moved her membership to Revelation Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the Missionary Depart-ment, Bereavement Ministry and Senior Ministry.
Penny often reminisced about times she and her siblings had to work hard in the fields on their grandparents farm in Cuba, AL. That’s what made her the woman that she was; she was strong and fierce, the one and only Penny.
She had the ability to step in wherever she was needed and handled every situation with a loving heart. Penny always put others first; her heart and soul was that big. She loved hard and was loved by so many people. No matter what was going on, she would always say, “AND THE BEAT GOES ON” with a smile on her face, chewing her double mint gum. She will be missed. God’s angel has her wings.
Penny will be joining her parents, siblings, Jonny, Sallie, Willie, Shirley and son-in-law, Franklin Arnold, Jr. Penny is now resting with all her loved ones who have crossed over. She leaves behind cherished memories with: her daughter, Kyetta Brown Arnold; granddaughter, Kiyah Brown; great-grandson, Khai Brown; her siblings, Archie Larkin, Sr., Dan Larkin, Sr., Leroy White, Sr., Lynette Rogers and Clemmie (Horace) Payne; sister-in-law, Cora Davis; special family members, Shante (David) Devaughn and Antione Holiman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
