Myah Brashelle Bost Obituary

Myah Brashelle Bost was born November 16th, 1994, to Katrina (Bost) Wilson and William Bost. She departed this life January 9, 2025, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center at 30 years young. While quite young, she had seemingly-lived a very long life. She was no stranger to struggle and had more than her fair share of hills to climb, but she did it all with love and with grace and she never lost her faith!

Her infectious smile lit up every room, even on the days she didn’t feel her best. Her heart’s desire was to bring smiles to the faces of those she loved, and she loved everybody! She suffered from illness starting at age nine, but you wouldn’t know it by the way she lived. She never let limitations stop her from living her best life! Her motto, as taught to her by her mother, and especially her father, was - “we don’t quit!” Myah never quit! Our “prized fighter” fought valiantly to the end.

Myah was passionate about sports! She played soccer for many years. She even tried her hand at softball, but basketball was her absolute favorite sport – her happy place! She played in school, in the neighborhood, in AAU tournaments and as many might imagine, she even played basketball in her dreams. She also loved to watch basketball and football. Myah was not a novice spectator; she knew the game!

She worked very hard in life and held a job from the time she was old enough to work. She found her career path at Nike, Inc. As a sports enthusiast, she was in her element, and she excelled. Myah proudly worked for Nike Store #378 for eight years until her health failed. She grew to love her job deeply. She embraced the Nike mantra that they “bleed orange,” and she epitomized Nike’s tagline, “Just Do It!” Whatever Myah chose to do, she “just did it,” and she did it well.

Myah was a gifted student, taking part in special programming in visual arts, language arts, math and science. She was an accomplished artist, having won a city-wide visual art award. She was known for creating original tattoo designs that she had applied to herself. These designs showed her love for others and her resilience to overcome the stigma of her Diabetes diagnosis. She became a published author in the eighth grade and had already won the Jean Gear Writing Award in elementary school. She went on to start designing shoes. She would either apply her original artwork to her Nike shoes or she would create her own shoe design concepts for her favorite nurse, “Auntie Kelli,” and for her dad, of course. She loved her DAD!

She had tried to attend college several times, but her illness got in the way. Myah never let anything defeat her. She went to college a third time and achieved a 4.0 GPA and was inducted into the National Honor Society for Leadership. She majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Retail Management that aligned with her career aspirations.

Myah loved music! She not only loved to dance, but she also loved to sing. She created original and comical “jingles” for everyday products, and she created unique sayings at school that resonated with students all throughout the school building. She would write, sing and record original songs. Her favorite thing to do was rap to conscientious lyrics that spoke of her personal challenges and a variety of societal issues.

Throughout her life, Myah touched the hearts of countless people. She was known for her acts of kindness, whether creating personalized artwork, mentoring, offering a listening ear or just laughing and having so much fun! She did it all despite her illness. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and her favorite daily task was kneeling in prayer for her family, and friends. Myah’s absence leaves an immeasurable void, but her legacy of LOVE, strength, and joy will endure forever.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William “Bill” and Marilyn Bost, her maternal grandfather, J.B. Elsberry and her bonus grandfather, William “Chug” Perrin.

She leaves to cherish her memory - her mother and father, her bonus father, Mark Wilson, her grandmother, Johnnye Elsberry (aka her Boo Bop); her loving aunts, Brenda Streeter Slaughter (Albert), Rhonda Kim Elsberry, LaTonya Elsberry Jefferson (Rudy), Jan Walton (Nelson), Krystal Davis, Angela Thompson (Fred), Jan Walton (Nelson), and Candace Hunter; her loving and protective uncles, Dwayne Elsberry and Jerrelle Elsberry; her cousins, Cranston, Devin and Dakeshia Streeter, Christian Elsberry, Patrick and Kennedy McCants, and Angel Elsberry, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and very special childhood friends to cherish her memory.

We all love you Myah and will cherish your memory forever! #TeamMyah #MyahStrong #SafeInHisArms
