Napoleon Williams Jr.(lovingly known as Nate, Hawk, and Junior) was born July 28th, 1941, to Napoleon Williams Sr. and Callie Ellington Williams in Richmond, IN. He gained his wings on September 13th, 2025.
Junior was a kind-hearted private man committed to being present for his family and community. A lover of mathematics, fondly known for remembering the birthdays of anyone he met. When he spoke, his words left an impact as a natural orator. Baptized at a young age at Second Baptist Church in Richmond, IN, he was known for including scripture and wisdom in his speech to communicate his point. In his spare time, Junior enjoyed attending track meets, eating good food, reading books from the library, watching urban classic movies, and creating new memories with family.
His career included two passions: mathematics and education. He was an educator in Cincinnati, OH, and Richmond, IN. With a heart for education, he was committed to educating others and ensuring he would be a resource for others seeking knowledge. Junior completed undergraduate studies in mathematics and science at Earlham College and graduate studies at the University of Notre Dame with an M.S. in Mathematics. For over 30 years, he worked as a Forecasting Specialist and Project Manager.
Junior was married to Lydia Grace Williams for over sixty years, and their union yielded three children. He joins his wife, son Napoleon "Hawk" Williams III, grandson Napoleon "Po" Hines, siblings: Ruby Virginia Stevens, Cleo Dorthy Williams, Garland Williams, and Larry Joe Williams.
Junior leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter Shannon Hines (Stanley "Sweetie" Hines Jr.), son Garland Williams, granddaughter Amber Kelly (James Kelly), grandsons Shane Hines and Stephon Hines, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and many others whose lives were forever changed by his presence.
