Norma Jean Owens (McClain)

Norma was born in Middletown, Ohio at Middletown Regional Hospital on March 24 1948. She lived her life in the surrounding Middletown area with her parents Howard and Mildred McClain and grandparents who she was very close to, Russell and Inez Egelston of Middletown, Ohio. Norma’s father worked 37 years at ARMCO and her mother was a homemaker. Norma had one sister, JoAnn, now deceased. Norma married Donnie Owens on July 22. 1972. She is survived by her loving husband, Donnie, her dear daughter, Holly Owens-Jordan, son-in-law Dennis Jordan, one granddaughter Tyler Owens-Jordan of Hamilton and three grandsons, Tre Owens-Jordan of Middletown, Trace Jordan (US Navy) and Logan Jordan (US Army).

Norma was a 1966 graduate of Trenton High School. After high school she worked at Krogers and later the Middletown Police Department in the Traffic section where she rode a three wheeler motorcycle used for traffic enforcement in the downtown area. Later she pursued a degree in Nursing at Sinclair Community College and became a Registered Nurse. Throughout her career was a nurse at the Dayton VA, Home Health Care, Lebanon Correctional Institution, and Middletown Regional Hospital and was known as a very compassionate nurse.

She will be missed very much by family, especially on Sundays, which was family day when we all were together. Needless to say, Norma’s family was special to her, especially Holly and the four grandchildren.
