**Norman C. Sampson** was born on September 4, 1936, in Middletown, Ohio, to Raymond and Aileen Sampson. He departed this life on September 15, 2026.
Norman was educated in the Middletown City School District. Following graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps.
He later met and married the love of his life, Marva Wells Sampson. From that union, they had two sons, Raymond and Anthony. Norman and Marva were married for 70 years.
Norman was very involved in the Madison Township community, serving on several boards and committees, including the Madison Lions Club, the Knothole League, and the Southwest Regional Water District. Norman was a notable figure associated with the Madison Township Life Squad. The Life Squad, which provided emergency medical services, merged with the Madison Township Fire Department in 2006, enhancing the community’s emergency response capabilities. Norman’s contributions to the squad and the community are part of his legacy and are remembered as part of the township’s history.
For over 30 years, Norman worked at Armco Steel and, after retiring, was recruited to go to India to help advance the steel mill industry there. He worked in India for many years and came to love the people and their culture.
After retirement, one of his greatest passions was making wine with his oldest son Raymond and sharing it with his friends.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Aileen, his son Raymond and grandson Rashad.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Marva, son Anthony; grandsons Ryan, Matthew and John Ray; four great-grandchildren, Matthew-Michael, Manoah, Josiah, and Raylynn; a host of family members and friends.
Norman is greatly loved and will be forever missed.
